What a beautiful week we have had! Afternoon recess has been a few minutes longer each day this week so that we can enjoy the fresh air!!
Please remember that we will be going to the public library tomorrow if it is not raining. Otherwise, Mrs. Stoner will be here to visit us! Tomorrow is one of our snow make-up days. We do have off school on Monday, the 15th though. Enjoy the long weekend!
We have had so much fun exploring air this week! Ask your child how we made the fountain today!! (We used compressed air to force water out of a bottle!)
We took two scavenger hunts this week to find 3-D shapes in our classroom. We discovered that many things in the world are rectangular prisms! Here are the six shapes we learned this week: sphere; rectangular prism; cylinder; cube; pyramid; and cone. Search for these shapes as you are out and about this weekend!
In Core we are learning about important details. We read My Pet Elephant today and started thinking about the important details about that story. As we focus on important details, we can recognize the main idea of a story. While you are reading with your child this weekend, talk about some of the important details they notice in the book.
Next Tuesday we will be back to school on a day 3 -gym! We will have class pictures taken on the 17th and school store on the 19th.
