Welcome New Teachers!
Tomorrow morning I’ll be helping to welcome 30-some new teachers to our district. We (the Technology Department) get about an hour to introduce them to the ins and outs of technology at MASD. In that time, here are the topics we hope to cover:
- our Acceptable Use Policy and copyright information
- information about copyright
- accessing our Help Desk (link will work on the district network only)
- procedures for borrowing equipment such as cameras, iPods, and loaner laptops
- how to register for a teacher webpage
- who to contact for curriculum support related to technology and what resources are available
- how to access district email
- accessing the district network for file storage
- policies and procedures for printing
Wow. That’s a lot. I have no doubt we’ll get it all in, but I also know we’ll just skim the surface of each topic. So, new teachers, please feel free to return here when necessary to refresh your memory or learn more. I know you’re going to be overwhelmed over the next few days. When you’ve dug yourself out from under the piles of information and are ready to start thinking about technology, don’t hesitate to leave a comment here or send me an email.
